Yes. The NDIS is designed to give you choice and control over your supports. You can choose registered NDIS providers, or use non-registered providers if you are self-managing your funding.

Your NDIS plan is developed during a planning meeting with an NDIA representative or Local Area Coordinator (LAC). During this meeting, you will discuss your goals, support needs, and the services that can help you achieve your outcomes. The plan is then reviewed and approved by the NDIA.

A plan review allows you to check whether your current supports are meeting your needs. Reviews usually take place annually, but you can request a review at any time if your circumstances or support needs change.

If you are not satisfied with your NDIS plan, you have the right to request a review. You can contact the NDIA to discuss your concerns and ask for a reassessment of your plan.

There are three main ways to manage your NDIS funding:

• Self-management, where you manage your funding directly
• Plan management, where a registered plan manager supports you
• NDIA-managed, where the NDIA manages the funding on your behalf
