About Us

Supporting You
Every Step of the Way

Abey Care was born from passion, experience, and a genuine commitment to supporting people to live better lives. Our journey began in 2020 as an independent NDIS support service. Over the past five years, we have proudly worked alongside many participants, built strong relationships, and received positive feedback that continues to inspire our growth.

As demand for our support grew and more participants chose to stay with us long-term, we knew it was time to take our passion to the next level. That vision became Abey Care.

We are a team of experienced and dedicated professionals who truly understand disability support. We are not new to the sector, we bring years of hands-on experience, knowledge, and care. Our goal is to create a safe, supportive, and empowering environment where every participant feels respected, valued, and supported to reach their full potential.

Our Core Strengths

Our Core Strengths

Why We’re Different

More Than Just NDIS Support

Abey Care is not just another NDIS support service. What makes us special is the depth of experience and the way we look beyond the basics.

Our team includes professionals with over 10 years of experience in therapeutic settings supporting children and adults, as well as over 15 years of experience in the social and  community welfare sector. This means we don’t only focus on NDIS supports, we look at the full picture.

We help participants access all the supports they may be eligible for, including local services, community programs, and government supports. We stay up to date with available services and work closely with other organisations to ensure you receive comprehensive, well-rounded support.

This holistic approach is key to our participant’s success, because NDIS support works best when it is connected with the right services and supports around you.

Frequently Asked Questions

Have any questions? We are here to help. Check out our most common questions below or contact us directly if you need more information about our services.

The National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) is an Australian Government initiative that provides funding for supports and services to people with disabilities. The NDIS aims to help individuals live more independently, build skills, and actively participate in their communities.

You may be eligible for NDIS support if you:

  • Are an Australian citizen, permanent resident, or hold a Protected Special Category Visa
  • Are under 65 years of age
  • Have a permanent and significant disability that impacts your ability to carry out everyday activities

To apply for the NDIS, you can contact the National Disability Insurance Agency (NDIA) directly. The NDIA will guide you through the application process, including providing information about your disability and how it affects your daily life.

More Details

The NDIS offers a wide range of supports tailored to individual needs, which may include:

  • Personal care and daily living support
  • Transport assistance
  • Therapeutic supports
  • Home modifications
  • Assistive technology
  • Employment and community participation supports
More Details

Your NDIS plan is developed during a planning meeting with an NDIA representative or Local Area Coordinator (LAC). During this meeting, you will discuss your goals, support needs, and the services that can help you achieve your outcomes. The plan is then reviewed and approved by the NDIA.

A plan review allows you to check whether your current supports are meeting your needs. Reviews usually take place annually, but you can request a review at any time if your circumstances or support needs change.

If you are not satisfied with your NDIS plan, you have the right to request a review. You can contact the NDIA to discuss your concerns and ask for a reassessment of your plan.

There are three main ways to manage your NDIS funding:

  • Self-management, where you manage your funding directly
  • Plan management, where a registered plan manager supports you
  • NDIA-managed, where the NDIA manages the funding on your behalf

You can also choose a combination of these options.

Support is available through the NDIA website, Local Area Coordinators (LACs), and support coordination services. You can also contact Abey Care Services for personalised guidance and support in understanding and using your NDIS plan effectively.

NDIS eligibility is assessed by the NDIA. If you are unsure about your eligibility or need help applying, contact our friendly team at Abey Care Services. We can guide you through the eligibility criteria and support you throughout the application process.
